Unlike some resort areas, the time in which it takes you to travel from one destination to another is relatively short and easy to locate. Within a 15 mile radius you will find more than 45 golf courses to choose from. Aside from the renowned Pinehurst Resort, home of the 2005 U.S. Open, there are many other challenging, beautiful and rewarding golf courses, some of which that are not only ranked in the top 50 by Golf Digest, but that are exceptionally affordable. Pinehurst and Southern Pines each contain many wonderful restaurants, bars and shopping for those non-golfers or for your partners who couldn't make the trip, but would like something memorable.
